Walter Gilbert

Walter Gilbert (born March 21st 1932) is an American scientist who was a specialist in BioChemistry.
Gilbert won the nobel prrize for chemistry in 1980 along with Frederick Sanger "for their contributions concerning the determination of base sequences in nucleic acids".
Gilbert also proposed the ideas of introns and exons in DNA and was a supporter for the 'RNA world hypothesis' for the origin of life.
