What did you do?

Assisted students in the organisation of the annual student-led conference

Who is involved?

Heather Brown, Lindsay Pennington, PGR Administrator, all Institute of Health and Society PGR students, staff speakers

How do you do it?

A student committee for the conference is established, the students decide on the theme of the conference, and we meet with them periodically to help with the practicalities of organising the conference such as ordering catering and inviting speakers.

Why do you do it?

The student-led conference helps students network with others from the institute, aids their organisation skills, presentation skills, increases their understanding of a wide range of research methods and allows the students to review their own training needs.

Does it work?

The conference evaluations reveal that students value the conference.
