Our history

Geode was founded in 1930 by Henry Daysh. Henry was an environmental scientist, who was passionate about protecting the environment. He had seen first-hand how coal mining in the North East of England had damaged the environment, and set up Geode. The company’s original vision was to show businesses how, by working in a more efficient manner, they could increase their profits and protect the environment. Geode still shares this vision today.

Henry Daysh took the company from strength to strength, expanding into oil exploration and logistics, and opening up the first international office in New York in 1960. When he retired in 1966, Henry left behind a legacy of expert knowledge and excellent customer service.

From our launch in 1930, Geode has grown to become one of the leading global environmental consultancies in the world. With offices on three continents and projects in over 13 different countries, Geode now employs over 8000 staff. Our global team now includes some of the world's brightest thinkers. We thrive on applying our specialist skills to a huge variety of challenges and we enjoy working with big, small, domestic and international businesses.
