Scope of business

At Geode we strive to work in an environmentally sustainable manner and to put something back into those communities with which we work. It is therefore vital that we have a fully functioning corporate social responsibilities team that can implement strategies to achieve these goals.

Scope of role

As a corporate social responsibility associate, you will liaise with educational establishments, community leaders and other businesses to ensure that Geode lives up to its mission statement of ‘improving the quality of life of the workforce, their families as well as the communities in which we work’. You will use your contacts to identify sustainable projects that would benefit from Geode’s support, address the needs of the local community and implement strategies to achieve these goals. In so doing, you will work closely with the Geode Corporate Trust and its volunteers and liaise with the Public Affairs Team to ensure that Geode is fulfilling its role in line with any legislation and regulations that pertain to CSR.

Responsibilities / Activities

  • Liaise with the Geode Corporate Trust with regard to on-going CSR projects and their implementation.
  • Liaise with external organisations that Geode work with e.g. local community groups and local councils.
  • Contribute new corporate social responsibility ideas to the CSR team and other Geode departments.
  • Report on Geode’s corporate social responsibility in both written reports and by means of presentations to senior management in the CSR team and at Executive Board level.

Skills required

  • To have attained, or be likely to attain, at least a 2.i (upper second class) degree in any discipline.
  • MSc in Corporate Social Responsibility desirable (or willingness to work towards this qualification as part of our 3-year Graduate Training Programme).
  • Experience of working in a generic role for a charity, NGO or a relevant government organisation desirable.
  • Must have a passion for sustainable development projects.
  • Must be adaptable and empathetic.
  • Must be able to provide innovative and creative ideas.
  • Effective communicator both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to build and develop internal and external relationships.
  • Well organised and able to manage time effectively.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team (acting as its leader when required).
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Pay for this entry-level graduate position is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
