Scope of business

The Geode Corporate Trust strives to give something back to the communities and areas where we work. Although much of our Charitable Trust’s work is funded directly from Geode’s profits, fundraisers are also employed to raise additional revenue for many of our environmental, social and community activities.

Scope of role

This is a new post, designed to support our team of voluntary fundraisers. As the team expands, we now need a fundraising coordinator to supervise our volunteers and deliver advice on the best way to achieve our money-raising targets. As our fundraising coordinator, you will also be responsible for achieving annually agreed money-raising targets through a wide range of activities, campaigns and events. The role involves working with the general public and businesses to raise awareness of the Charitable Trust’s work and to increase the amount individuals and groups contribute.

Responsibilities / Activities

  • Organising our current fundraising activities, such as flag days and house-to-house collections.
  • Developing new and imaginative fundraising activities, many of which will be events-based.
  • Working with all forms of the media to promote, market and advertise forthcoming events.
  • Expanding our corporate fundraising, including employee giving and matched giving from employers.
  • Raising awareness, at both local and national levels, of the Geode Corporate Trust and its work - this may involve giving talks to groups, radio interviews, writing press releases, etc.
  • Developing and co-ordinating web-based fundraising, online auctions and selling of merchandise.
  • Organising the use of direct mailing to a wide range of potential and current donors.
  • Line managing our fundraising volunteers and supporting them in their endeavours.
  • Preparing reports for both donors and trustees.
  • Monitoring income and expenditure against the budget allocated and the target that has been determined.
  • Designing and producing support material, such as posters and newsletters.

Skills required

  • To have attained, or be likely to attain, at least a 2.i (upper second class) degree in any discipline.
  • Membership of the Institute of Fundraising and / or Institute of Fundraising qualification preferred (or a willingness to work towards either of these upon appointment).
  • Must be willing to undertake and pass an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
  • Must have an outgoing personality and be of a personable nature.
  • Articulate with negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Must have a passion for the environment.
  • Experience of supporting adults in a workplace environment preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communicator both in report writing and in oral presentations.
  • Ability to build and develop internal and external relationships.
  • Well organised and able to manage time effectively.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team (acting as its leader when required).
  • Applicants must have a first aid qualification or be willing to undergo first aid training.
  • Valid full driving licence preferred.
