Newcastle's Journal newspaper recently reported on October 30th 2014 that visitors from Germany were most valued in the first six months of 2014, contributing £9m to the region’s economy. It also stated that the largest volume of visits to the North East during these six months - 28,000 - came from Germany (41% higher than in 2013). Statisics such as these demontrate the highly valued relationship between the North East region of the UK and Germany. It also shows how much German visitors enjoy sampling the varied cultural attractions which the North East has to offer!
