We have now looked at PubMed, and you should now be able to:
  1. find papers online using keywords
  2. combine searches to retrieve more meaningful results
  3. find a paper online for a given reference
  4. download the full version (PDF file) of a paper - if available
  5. find DNA and protein sequences associated with a scientific paper
  6. read a protein or DNA database entry to find additional information
  7. find an OMIM entry for a particular protein or DNA sequence
  8. read an OMIM entry to determine genome location
  9. read an OMIM entry to determine if a protein is associated with a disease or condition
In the next section we will look at how to:
  1. find a paper from its doi number
  2. search the sequence database for a given sequence
  3. find papers associated with that sequence
  4. find closely related sequences
  5. search using short sequences
