ABC stands for ATP binding cassette.  All members have two domains which bind and in many cases hydrolyse ATP.  These domains are conserved throughout the family of proteins.

The ABC superfamily is the largest family of membrane proteins.

CFTR and P-glycoprotein are both examples of ABC superfamily proteins. [1]
