Chromatin Immunoprecipitation is a type immunoprecipitation experimental technique used to investigate the interaction between proteins and DNA in a cellin vivo. It is used to determine whether certain proteins are found in specific regions of the genome, examples of this are, transcription factors and DNA binding protein. Chromatin Immunoprecipitation can be analyzed using PCR, Microarray (ChiP on CHIP) and Sequencing (ChIP-seq). Microarray and sequencing are specifically used to identify all the binding sites an activator[1].
