Collagen is a group of proteinsProtein found in animals.[1] It is the main component of connective tissue, and is the proteinProtein that occurs the most in mammalsmammal (around up about 30% of the whole-body proteinProtein content).[2] Collagen is mostly found in fibrous tissues such as tendonstendon, ligamentsligaments and skinskin, but is also found in the corneascornea, cartilagecartilage, bonebone and blood vesselsblood vessels. Collagen is commonly made in the fibroblastfibroblast but can be made in other places.[3]
