The skin is an epidermal waterproof layer found in mammals. It serves different functions and these includes: protection from UV light, regulation body temperature, reducing water loss from the body. The skin is also one of the first lines of defence for the body. Made up of several layers, including the epirdermis, the papillary layer and the reticular layer, the structure of the skin makes access of microbes into the body very difficult. The skin covers the entire body and protects it from physical damage as well as microbe infection [1]
