The molecular formula of a molecule is the actual number and type of atoms in a particular molecule of any substance [1]. This is not to be confused with Empirical formula which is the simplest whole number ratio of atoms in a molecule. For example in Methane (CH4) the molecular formula is CH4 as one carbon atom and four hydrogen atoms are present in one methane molecule.
