DsRNA is the abbriviated name for Double stranded RNA. DsRNA is likened to the normal genetic material - DNA (found in cells) as DsRNA contains two complementary strands. This is unusual as RNA usually exists and a single stranded molecule. Some viruses, such as Bluetongue virus [1] , have dsRNA as their genetic material [2].
