 TFIIB is one of the eukaryotic general transcription factors (the rest of them being TFIIA, TFIID, TFIIE, TFIIF, TFIIH). It helps RNA ploymerase II to bind to the promotor and promotor clearence.  TFIIB has a characteristic zinc finger (DNA binding domain) at the N-terminus. It also binds to the TBP (TATA bindin protein) stabilising it to the DNA strand containing the TATA element.
