Glycogen Phosphorylase is an enzyme which catalyses the breakdown of Glycogen into Glucose-1-Phosphate. This is done by cleaving the 1-4 Glycosidic linkage on the terminal glucose monomer and adding a phosphate group to form Glucose-1-Phosphate[1].
