Glycogen Phosphorylase is a homodimeric enzyme which catalyses the breakdown of Glycogen into Glucose-1-Phosphate. This is done by cleaving the 1-4 glycosidic linkage on the terminal glucose monomer and adding a phosphate group to form glucose-1-phosphate[1].
