Fc receptors are found on specific cells in the body for example B lymphocytes and natural killer cells. Their function is to help these cells carry out their roles within the immune system. The fc receptors bind antibodies that are attached to cells which are infected and so encourage the destruction of these viaphagocytosis or with the help of cytotoxic T cells.
