SH2 (Src Homology 2) domains are phosphotyrosine residue binding domains which are heavily involved in signalling and cell communication. It has a number of important roles such as stabalising the inactive state of members of the Src family but it is also required by non-receptor tyrosine kinases in order to stabalize their active state.
