Vitamins are required by the human body and allow the body to function normally and carry out regular functions. Vitamins, when taken in the correct quantities, contribute to a healthy and balanced diet.

When vitamins are taken in incorrect amounts it can lead to disease.

Some examples include:

  • Hypercalcaemia- linked to excess Vitamin D
  • Scurvy- linked to deficiency of Vitamin C
  • Peripheral Neuropathy- linked to taking more than the recommended amount of Vitamin B6 for a prolonged period of time
