Vitamins are required by the human body and allow the body to function normally and carry out regular functions. Vitamins, when taken in the correct quantities, contribute to a healthy and balanced diet.
When vitamins are taken in incorrect amounts it can lead to disease.
Some examples include:
- Hypercalcaemia - linked to excess Vitamin D
- Scurvy - linked to deficiency of Vitamin C
- Peripheral Neuropathy - linked to taking more than the recommended amount of Vitamin B6 for a prolonged period of time
