Amphibolic

 Amphi- is a prefix meaning “both” or “two” so amphibolic is a word used to describe a pathway that is both anabolic and catabolic. An amphibolic pathway breaks down carbohydrates into smaller molecules and also produces energy in the form of ATP; this energy is then used to synthesize more complex molecules from simple ones. An example of an amphibolic pathway is the Citric Acid cycle (Krebs cycle).
