A Standard curve is a way of plotting data on a graph. It is used to determine relationship between different variables in a data set. The standard curve is used to determine the value of the unknown variable from the easily measurible variable.

If the procedure follows Beer's law, then the plotted points would lie in such a way that a straight line can be drawn through them , this will help to determine the unknown values by locating their %T/Abs on the line then drawing a line to intersect the point on the line and then extending it to the concentration axis[1].

the formula for Beer's law is:

A= e x l x c

A= Absorbance

E=  molar absorbtivity constant

L= path length

C= concentration
