dTTP is one of the five deoxynucleotide phosphates (dNTP). dTTP stands for Thymidine triphospatate. One us can for dTTP is when performing the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) on a strand of DNA that you want to amplify. dTTP is added to the mixture with the other dNTPs and these nucleotides are added to the single strand of DNA by Taq_Polymerase to amplify the DNA.
