ATP (adenosine triphosphate) is a high energy molecule that stores the energy we need for most reactions within the human body. ATP is synthesised in the Mitochondria of a cell, in what is called the electron transfer chain.ATP is a very important source of energy for many functions in our body . An example is it's usage in glycolysis. this is the process whereby glucose is converted to pyruvate in the metabolis pathway.
