Asparagine
From The School of Biomedical Sciences Wiki
Asparagine is a non-essential amino acid. Its abbreviations are Asn or N, and its codons are AAU or AAC.
It provides an important site for asparagine-linked glycosylation (N-glycosylation) within peptides [1][2].
Synthesis
(transaminase) (asparagine synthase)
Oxaloacetate ⇒ Aspartate ⇒ Asparagine
glutamate → alpha-ketoglutarate glutamine → glutamate
ATP → AMP + PPi
