NADP+, or Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate is the Oxidised form of NADP, having taken up a Proton (H+). NADP+ provides the Reducing power for many vital biochemical rections, as with every Oxidation of NADP there is a simultaneous reduction of another molecule within the pathway, for oxidation and reduction always happen together. A helpful way of remebering what oxidation and reduction actually mean in terms of electron transfer is to use OILRIG - Oxidation is loss, Reduction is gain.
