Neutrophil

A type of White Blood Cell which plays a key role in the innate immune response. It engulfs pathogens by phagocytosis and digests them, breaking them down and rendering them unharmful to the body. It is the most abundant of all white blood cells and easily recognisable by it's trilobular nucleus. Neutrophils are made from stem cells located in the bone marrow and are then released into the blood.
