Non-polar amino acids are those which are not electronegatively charged

(A) Alanine

(F) Phenylalanine

(G Glycine

(I) Isoleucine

(L) Leucine

(M) Methionine

(P) Proline

(V) Valine

The overall polarity of an amino acid is determined by the R group attached to the alpha carbon atom.  [1].
