Sarcoplasmic recticulum

The sarcoplasmic reticulum is a highly specialized form of the smooth endoplasmic reticulum[1]. It is a network of membrane-enclosed tubules that extends throughout the sarcoplasm[2], and is assigned to the regulation of intracellular calcium homeostasis.
