Introduction to part 2
We will now move on to some new tools:
- GEO DataSets - Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) repository
- GEO2R - A tool for comparing GEO datasets
- DAVID Bioinformatics Resources - Database for Annotation, Visualization and Integrated Discovery (DAVID)
- Ensembl Biomart
- STRING
In this section, we are going to look at how to handle and analyse large data-sets. Specifically, we are going to:
- Locate a large dataset from a microarray study
- Run analysis of the dataset and see if there are any significant results
- Analyse any significant data to look for clustering of genes/terms/outcomes
- Explore how we can convert between different ID systems
First, we are going to look at how we can find a microarray dataset for analysis.
