Glycosidic bonds are covalent linkages between the anomeric carbon of a monosaccharide and either the oxygen atom of an alcohol molecule (O-glycosidic bond) or the nitrogen atom of an amine (N-glycosidic bond) . These bonds can form modified carbohydrates.
