Monosomy

[1]The term monosomy is used to describe a form of aneuploidy where a chromosome is missing from the usual diploid set. Monosomy can lead to a number of conditions, including Turner syndrome where an entire chromosome is missing.  Partial monosomy is when part of a second chromosome is missing.
