Cytosol [1] is the aqueous fluid in cells (intracellular fluid), occupied more than half of the total volume of a cell. Cytosol is the site for metabolic processes such as glycolysis occur; in prokaryote cell all of the metabolic processes carry out there. Cytosol contains varying concentrations of ions, small molecules and macromolecules. Cytosol is a part of cytoplasm without any organelles in the cell.
